Project Fifteen - Lindbergh

Peter Lindbergh is a titan of the photography world. Born in 1940s Germany, he is particularly associated with the rise of the super model in the pages of magazines like Vogue from the early 1990s.

Commentators note how Lindbergh allowed the women he photographed to be seen as themselves, giving his images a quality beyond those of his contemporaries. His subjects were not mere props for clothes, but souls to be explored.

I became aware of Lindbergh only very recently as I explored the history of fashion photography where Lindbergh’s images are legendary.

This project will seek to use the inspiration in Lindbergh’s images to capture moments in time, to seek authenticity in the subject, and to descend into the depth of emotion that are the story behind every eye.

Wish me luck…
